Patricia Wilkinson

Patricia is the Tourism Strategy Senior Project Officer for NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service which forms part of the Office of Environment & Heritage.

The role provides strategic direction for tourism within the agency working on research, development and implementation of tourism masterplanning, coordination of tourism awards and inbound development on behalf of the agency.

Placing the focus on quality standards, Patricia’s work saw Kosciuszko National Park become the first protected areas in Australia to achieve Ecotourism Destination Certification with the Blue Mountains National Park recently announced as the second.

As the Tourism Coordinator for the Western Branch of NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service, Patricia was involved in the strategic development of the River Red Gum Parks in Southern NSW and Toorale National park in Western NSW.

With extensive experience in the visitor economy, Patricia has worked in regional tourism in a range of roles including as Executive Officer of a Regional Tourism Organisation and then Regional Manager for the State Tourism Organisation.

Patricia is currently a board member of RDA (Riverina), the regional economic development peak body and holds a Graduate Diploma in Economic Development (with distinction) and Master in Economic and Regional Development, Bachelor of Social Science (Social Welfare) and a Certificate IV in Small Business Management (with distinction).

Patricia is passionate about the need to apply research to inform the development of tourism and strives to find new and innovative solutions to ensure our regional communities are dynamic and prosperous.

As a long-time advocate for sound tourism strategic planning, Patricia is keen to bring to ART Ltd an ability to be strategic, facilitate collaborative working relationships, strive for excellence in experience delivery , and most importantly provide a platform for achieving sustainable regional visitation.
