Innovation Spotlight – WA Visitor Centre
Visitors to send in wildflower photos to help tracker app bloom
Tourism operators and visitors are encouraged to submit their images for consideration as Western Australian Visitor Centre prepares to launch its new Wildflower Tracker App, which will attract visitors to the top wildflower spots.
Supported by Tourism WA, the app will go live soon and will include a feature allowing users to tag wildflower sightings, locations, and date. They’ll also be able to post photos of the flowers they’ve spotted.
It’s a program well worth a look. Find out more at: https://www.wavisitorcentre.com.au/wildflowers
Great initiative – well done WA!
Western Australia is home to an exceptional array of over 12,000 species of wildflowers – almost two-thirds are unique to Western Australia. The blooms carpet the landscape with colour, coming into bloom in the northern parts of the state in June and flourishing through till late spring in the southern parts of WA.
It is a special time to experience the extraordinary colours of WA and our wildflower tracker app will you find the flowers as it is populated with current sightings.
