    The Role
    As the Manager Tourism and Cultural Services, you will be responsible for the development and management of Wodonga’s performing arts centre, event attraction program, major events, cultural heritage tourism site and tourism product development; with the aim of strengthening Wodonga’s residential and visitor experience, tourism offerings and visitor economy.

    The role will also be responsible for leadership, direction and management of the operation of venues and programs that contribute to Wodonga’s cultural expression and identity, develop a sense of wellbeing and community connectedness, deliver economic benefit and contribute to the profile of Wodonga as a vibrant city.

    The role will actively work towards the achievement of strategic council objectives, while monitoring and responding to daily operational demands. The successful candidate will form innovative and collaborative partnerships with relevant industry, government and other stakeholders to establish Wodonga as a key event and tourism destination in the region.

    About you
    The successful applicant will demonstrate the qualities of being a highly motivated visionary leader with strong interpersonal skills who is able to align themselves to the community’s vision and the council’s mission and values.

    You will be a great team player who is quick to develop good relationships.

    You will also be able to demonstrate:
    • A tertiary qualification in in arts administration, business, community development, tourism or equivalent;
    • Relationship building skills that foster working relationships with community groups, federal and state representatives, and other relevant stakeholders;
    • The ability to provide strong leadership to staff to assist them through the process of organisational, operational and environmental changes within the workplace;
    • The ability to motivate teams and individuals, be results focused and comfortable prioritising projects and working on own initiative; and,
    • Significant experience in tourism and event development roles with the ability to effectively secure and manage funding opportunities.
