I have been involved in Accessible Tourism for over 20 years
and contributed to some significant European Accessible Tourism projects working closely with the European Commission.
I have also supported VisitEngland, Visit Scotland and Visit Wales, to help develop and promote Accessible Tourism in the UK. Recently I have been working with Fáilte Ireland as they embark on their journey to develop accessibility
I have collaborated in writing a number of papers and book chapters on this subject and have been a guest speaker at conferences in Europe and beyond. I have worked for example extensively in Georgia the country.
In Australia I have helped support Accessible Tourism development with Tourism Australia, Austrade, Visit Melbourne, Local Govt New South Wales, Queensland Tourism and Events, Gold Coast Management and Commonwealth Games organisers.
In 2018 I was a keynote speaker at a Universal Design conference in Brisbane.
In February 2017, I was appointed by the Minister for Disabled People to be one of a number of champions across a range of sectors for 3 years. representing the tourism sector in the UK, promoting the benefits of inclusive tourism.
