The annual ART Convention is the most significant annual event for industry, practitioners and government agencies engaged in regional tourism throughout Australia. Plenary presentations

Some of our preliminary speakers include

Motivational speaker and Wellness Architect – Tim Jack Adams

Tim evolved from a bloke that called wellbeing ‘fluffy stuff’ to relooking at well-being as lifesaving. Hear from Tim about how to reconnect yourself to other people, and to the natural environment. Immerse yourself in how to find purpose in life so they can live a life that is true to themselves and not from others’ expectations.

The Metrix Tourism Tracker – Metrix Consulting

Up to now, conducting primary research to understand visitor trends has been the main channel to obtain psychographic visitor data. Meet an insight-based data product that examines the demographics, psychographics and spending behaviour of Australian domestic tourists for any regional area in Australia.

Tropical Fruit World – Aymon Gow

Aymon is General manager of Tropical Fruit World and Chair of Destination Tweed. Tropical Fruit World is a successful tourist attraction and commercial farming operation distributing quality tropical fruit produce to interstate markets across the country.  The agritourism attraction and business offers behind the scenes experiences of farming and its focus on best practice environmentally sustainable farming methods.

Concurrent workshops

This year we use our concurrent sessions to address regional tourism skill building and problem solving.

Fixing your region

ART is running a competition for potential delegates to pitch an issue in their regional tourism environment. The top three issues considered most relevant to delegates will be chosen and featured in turn at each of the three sessions. A tourism skilled facilitator / tourism specialist will facilitate the delegates to help solve the problem.

Making your VIC sustainable

Building on the huge success of last year’s Storytelling session, we invite John Pastorelli back to Convention, to deliver multiple consecutive sessions on storytelling. Delegates will be highly stimulated, have fun and progressively build their skills, to be able to deliver their own story.
