Tourism Coordinator, North West QLD
We are seeking an experienced Tourism Coordinator for a temporary 12-month assignment located in North West Queensland.
Accommodation will be provided for non-local candidates and travel expenses will be compensated at the beginning and end of the assignment.
Position overview: You will be responsible for developing marketing, promotional and social media strategies to increase tourism, enhance visitor experience and contribute to the Shire’s economic development within the tourism field.
Within this role, you will be responsible for:* Identifying and undertaking the development of strategic marketing opportunities within the tourism field;
* Updating and reviewing the tourism plan in order to promote and enhance the image of the region;
* Working with community groups and agencies to market and run existing events as well as develop new events;
* Developing a Social Media strategy to promote the region as the Outback Queensland tourism destination; and
* Liaising with various stakeholders in order to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
To be successful in this role, you will hold:
* Tertiary qualifications in Tourism/Marketing or a related field;
* Experience in marketing, tourism, and special events management;
* Project management experience, with the ability to develop and implement plans, set goals and analyse outcomes within the required timelines;
* Well-developed negotiation, communication and customer service skills with ability to liaise with key stakeholders; and
* A current drivers licence.
