Based on feedback received via a recent survey and due to the present circumstances caused by COVID-19, ART have decided to postpone the Convention scheduled for Ballarat, VIC. Instead ART will be hosting a virtual event this year. Details are currently being finalised and updates will be provided via the Convention Group (this discussion) as they become available.

Thank you to everyone who completed our survey! A quick summary of the results is below.

Even with COVID-19 safe practices in place and if all state borders were to reopen this month, less than half (44%) of survey respondents indicated they would attend Convention this year. More than half (56%) responded they still would not attend.

    Other key feedback takeouts were:

    • Most respondents (65%) had attended at least one ART Convention in the past
    • More than half (59%) had planned on attending this year’s event prior to COVID-19 restrictions being in place
    • Budget restrictions was the most common reason for not attending (71%), followed by access concerns (29%)

When asked if respondents would prefer to participate in a virtual event at a reduced cost, the clear feeling was yes (62%). Only 38% indicated they wouldn’t attend a virtual event.
