Position Vacant: Senior Visitor Economy Officer
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity for a tourism professional to take the lead in delivering an exciting new Destination Management Plan. In this vibrant and diverse role you will lead the delivery of Council’s visitor services, working with a small team to continue the development of Maitland as a desirable place to visit and invest. Working in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders, you will manage a host of visitor economy projects and partner with others to achieve annual goals and programs.
You
This role requires a solid understanding of the visitor economy and how it contributes to the wider prosperity of a city. In addition to demonstrated business and stakeholder relationship skills you will possess a degree in tourism or a related discipline. You will have extensive experience working in the visitor economy, and will deliver high quality outcomes for visitors and stakeholders. Your positive energy and outcomes focussed attitude will aid your ability to drive continuous improvement and lead and support staff in the execution of day to day activities. Most importantly, you will be a hands on, ‘roll your sleeves up and get the job done’ kind of person!
Benefits
This is a temporary full-time role up to 12 months until October 2020 with a base salary range of $91,383 – $101,435 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 9.5% p.a. super.
