Position Vacant: Events Coordinator

Are you creative, innovative, organised and have a strong aptitude for detail? Can you drive and mentor a team of professionals? A rare opportunity has become available for a highly experienced individual to lead the Events teams within Council’s Advance Rockhampton Department.
With your innate ability to coordinate and motivate, you will develop, lead and implement the Events strategy for RRC, leading the Events team to deliver events within budget for Council. A proactive individual, you plan every logistical detail and implement contingencies to ensure the smooth running of your events and managing operational budgets.
Your previous experience and existing partnerships with Tourism/Event industry stakeholders will allow for ongoing networking opportunities, ensuring your success in achieving key strategies and deliverables.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check – Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

Position Requirements
- Proven experience coordinating and developing major events in the public or private sector, with excellent knowledge of the festival and event industry. .
- Demonstrated experience in assessing event delivery and funding opportunities to maximise the value of events to the local community and as an economic driver for the region.
- Ability to lead, mentor and motivate staff to achieve positive business outcomes with a One Team approach.
- Working knowledge of legislation, codes and standards that relate to Events management and ensure compliance.
