    Position Vacant: Gallery & Museum Program Officer

    Base salary $68,950 to $73,717 plus super

    Broken Hill City Council has entered an exciting new era with a number of challenges to meet and opportunities to grasp. We have an exciting career opportunity working within our Corporate & Cultural Services team as a Gallery & Museum Program Officer.

    Reporting directly to the Gallery & Museum Manager, you will support Broken Hill City Council in delivering valued services to the community. The position will plan, develop, implement and market innovative audience development strategies, group and education programs; to ensure a high level of community and visitor involvement in the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery and the Albert Kersten Minerals and Mining Museum.

    We are seeking a highly motivated employee that has well developed customer relations and administration skills. As an outstanding communicator you will be adept at developing relationships with a range of stakeholders within the organisation, as well as local and tourist communities. To do this you will draw from your knowledge and/or experience in program planning, public presentations, project management and public gallery experience.

    A key component of the position will be to enhance Council’s public image through responsive and effective liaison and communication with the community, businesses and other stakeholders.

    As Council facilities are open 7 days per week and operates on a rotating roster; you may need to be available for work Sunday to Saturday. Penalty rates apply for Saturday and Sunday work as per the Broken Hill City Council Consent Award. All other conditions are as per the Award.
