Event Funding available for Regional Events in NT, WA & QLD
Applications for Regional Event Funding are now open in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Queensland:
Northern Territory – Event Funding Program (EFP)
The Northern Territory Major Events Company has launched a new round of event funding, aimed at assisting the Territory events sector grow and develop in the post-COVID environment.
Investment opportunities include:
- Community Event Funding up to $30,000
This funding supports events that make the Northern Territory a more enjoyable place to live. Events are mainly targeted at a local audience and have strong community support. - Event Development Funding from $30,000 up to a maximum of $100,000
This funding helps events engage new audiences and attract visitors to the Northern Territory. These events also help build local skills and have a positive social impact.

Western Australia – Regional Events Scheme (RES)
Event holders from around Western Australia are encouraged to apply for the 2021-2022 Regional Events Scheme funding round. The Tourism WA program provides funding for smaller and developing WA events. A total of $1 million is available through the scheme, including $150,000 for the Regional Aboriginal Events Scheme (RAES). Event holders can apply for funding for events held between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.

Queensland – QLD Destination Events Program (QDEP)
Round 18 of TEQ’s Queensland Destination Events Program (QDEP) is now open for applications from events set to be staged between September 2021 – September 2022. QDEP supports events that generate local economic activity and development in the host destination, attract external visitation, drive social and community outcomes and enhance the appeal of the destination. There are two funding options:
Destination event funding – Single year funding for developing events seeking growth ($10,000 – $25,000 per year) .
Significant event funding – Single year or up to three years of funding for events that can demonstrate a strong track record of growth or growth potential ($25,000 – $100,000 per year).
The positive economic impact and interest in a community that a successful regional event can provide not only helps to build a sense of local pride but can also foster confidence and strengthen the community as a whole.
