We are seeking a dynamic self-motivated person with excellent business skills and a strong interest in local and regional economic development to join our City Strategy Team.
Wagga Wagga is the largest inland city in NSW, contributing over $3.4 billion to the Australian economy and possessing an exciting growth rate. As a regional city, Wagga Wagga supports a highly diverse and dynamic economy that services a catchment of 300,000 people.
Wagga Wagga has been identified to grow beyond 100,000 people over the next 20 years. To ensure responsible growth we need employment and services to support future and current residents. You will be responsible for encouraging investment in strategic sectors to support economic growth and build on our natural and geographic strengths.

- Remuneration of $3,039.68 gpf + superannuation

Your new role:
You will be responsible for developing and supporting strategic partnerships with the Federal and NSW State Government, Wagga Business Chamber, Committee 4 Wagga, Women in Business and other key stakeholders.You will promote economic development across the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area and Riverina Region. The role will work with stakeholders to identify barriers to growth and development and in turn identify and deliver solutions, embracing new opportunities to allow businesses and industry to thrive and innovate.
You will be part of a nimble dynamic team that thrives at delivering quality results for the city.
What you will need to succeed:
- You will be a dynamic and self-motivated individual with excellent business skills and a strong interest in local and regional economic development;
- You will be passionate and committed to delivering high quality outcomes;
- A can-do attitude with a positive approach;
- You must be enthusiastic, have strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work effectively in a team;
- A demonstrated ability to manage competing tasks and work to deadlines is essential as is a willingness and ability to work flexible hours; and
- A background in commercial business or industry management or operations, commercial property or economics.
