Apex Queensland Youth Camps Limited
An opportunity exists for a Chief Executive Officer at Apex Queensland Youth Camps. Apex have been running school and group camps since 1983. With two unique, purpose-built camps located on the Sunshine Coast and Magnetic Island, they provide an extensive range of outdoor recreation activities and programs specifically tailored to the needs of each group. Programs include school camps, youth, church, sporting and community group camps, corporate business and team building retreats, birthday parties and school holiday programmes
Key responsibilities include:
- Finance – Producing, implementing and monitoring the budgets, increasing revenue and company reporting
- Compliance – Ensuring all legislative, grant and contractual compliance
- Human Resources – Including wage compliance, training, safety and implementation of KPI’s across all departments
- Marketing – Improving the business by implementing advertising and social media plans within budget. Maintaining a focus on customer service and measuring customer satisfaction and feedback for continual improvement
- Grants and Fundraising – securing sustainable revenue streams
The successful applicant will have (Selection Criteria):
- Demonstrated leadership capability to inspire their team and the wider community
- Demonstrated record in working effectively with a Board of Management at a senior management level
- Experience in developing multi-year strategic, financial and business plans including demonstrated ability to attract, manage and acquit government and non-government funds
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the outdoor education and camp sector
- Demonstrated capability to optimise the use of technology to achieve organisational goals
- Experience working with children desirable.
This position will be based at Twin Waters on the Sunshine Coast but with travel required to Townsville and other areas. Full time role with contract term negotiated with preferred candidate.
