Tourism & Travel roundtable in Corangamite
Last week I was grateful for the opportunity to partake in a roundtable discussion about the current challenges events and more broadly, tourism and travel are facing with Federal Opposition Leader, Anthony Albenese, and Federal Member for Corangamite, Libby Coker.
While I could have spoken about the challenges events are facing for hours, I was able to provide industry feedback with relation to:
> Direct financial support
> Government backed insurance scheme
and presented highlights of what a bespoke funding program could look like for the industry.
These points have been reinforced in a follow up email along with the offer for AREA (the newly formed Australian Regional Events Alliance), to be used as a sounding board for feedback and ideas when it comes to regional events and their needs.
