  VTIC: Tourism recovery blueprint launched as $19.5 billion loss in visitor spend is announced

  Today we released a blueprint for recovery designed to rescue jobs and rebuild a sector decimated by the ongoing challenges of COVID-19.

  Industry leaders have come together to develop a platform to guide the recovery of tourism in Victoria over the next 3-5 years, rebuilding a sector that employed over 250,000 people and contributed $32.5 billion to the Victorian economy at the end of 2019.

  VTIC’s recovery blueprint calls for further investment in marketing, events support, industry strengthening, product development and aviation, in addition to ongoing funding for Visit Victoria, Melbourne Convention Bureau and Business Events Victoria.
