Ongoing vacancy in Tennant CreekThe Work Area: The Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade was established in September 2020 as the Northern Territory Public Sector’s coordinating agency for economic and industry development. The department comprises the former functions of the departments of Trade, Business and Innovation, Primary Industry and Resources as well as Tourism NT, Licensing and Screen Territory to bolster agility, flexibility and quicker decision making across government. The department’s vision is to support achievement of a $40 billion economy by 2030, by balancing robust and efficient regulation, and sustainable and competitive industry growth strategies.
The position:
As the Customer Service Officer you will assist businesses and individuals with licensing requirements, new business, grants and Government assistance programs. Provide services on behalf of internal and external Agencies by receipting and processing Licences and be the primary call and contact centre for the DepartmentKey duties and responsibilities: Deliver a continuously high standard of Customer Service to meet the needs of all internal and external clients and provide administrative support to internal and external Agencies and Departments. Respond to a range of public enquiries, face-to-face, call centre or electronic methods and provide clear, accurate, business and licence information and guidance and liaise with other agencies, Departments and organisations.
Skills & Experience: To be suitable for this role you will need to demonstrate experience in front line Customer Service including concise delivery of regulatory and accurate business and licence information, or similar experience demonstrating the ability to quickly learn these processes.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a variety of communication channels for the efficient and accurate transfer of information to external and internal stakeholders. You must have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and undergo Criminal History Name Check.
