Planning for the Future in Chaotic Time with Carolyn Childs

About 12 years ago, when I wrote the situational analysis for our Marketing Plan Blueprint, I said to my then business partner Bronwyn White that dark times were coming. She told me not to be so negative (and I think a reference to British pessimism came into it ).

But in my work trying to help people to plan for the future, when I have tried to talk to people about planning for this, others have had a similar response. I have noticed that a part of the problem is that we avoid ‘Shadow Futures’, the ones that are dark or difficult. But ignoring them doesn’t make them go away – it just leaves us unprepared and devastated.

And in regional tourism, it HAS felt like an endless succession of crises in the past decade. As soon as we pick ourselves up something else comes round the corner. It can be exhausting.

So, I began to experiment with ideas on how to help people, without them being daunted by it.

This webinar represents a chance to do that. So if you are feeling battered by what’s going on please join me.

I plan to share practical, but positive tips on how to manage better in chaotic times.
