19.5 hours per week – including weekend work
Tamworth Regional Council (TRC) is one of the largest Councils in inland NSW ideally located approximately half-way between Sydney and Brisbane. The region has a population of over 60,000 residents and prides itself on providing a strong community lifestyle with quality education, health, shopping and sporting facilities.
As the Region continues to experience significant growth, the Economic Development & Investment Division of TRC is seeking a motivated individual with experience in the development of tourism products and experiences.
Your role will primarily focus on:
- Assisting in the operation of the Tamworth Visitor Information Centre, including volunteer engagement
- Assisting in the development of the local government region as destination of choice for visitors across NSW and Australia
- Researching visitor needs and expectations
- Developing and delivering high quality visitor experiences and tourism products
To be successful in this role, you will bring to the position:
- Certificate III in Tourism, Business (or similar) OR equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrated understanding of the Destination Development landscape
- Experience in delivering tourism products and experiences
- Effective volunteer experience
- Current driver licence
This position has been classified as a Grade 7 with a salary range of $28.96 to $31.34 per hour. Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
This position includes weekend work based on operational requirements.
