Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to be in the Ningaloo region next week for the 2023 Solar Eclipse. Eclipse spectators are being encouraged to make the most of their stay in the region, with Tourism WA’s Dark Sky Festival being held across the shires of Ashburton, Carnarvon and Exmouth from 19-21 April to enhance the experience of visitors and locals already in town.

All astroenthusiasts are being reminded no matter where or how they participate on 20 April, it is never safe to look directly at the sun, and doing so may cause eye damage. Those who do choose to use methods such as eclipse glasses are urged to make sure they understand the risks.

The Solar Eclipse and Dark Sky Festival is supported by the WA Government and Tourism WA. Visit the Healthy WA website to ensure your safety for next week’s once-in-a-lifetime spectacular.
