Tourism Manager, Murweh Shire Council
The Tourism Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership and overall management of Council’s diverse portfolio of tourism experiences and events. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position plays an important role in fostering the growth of tourism in the region, promoting existing attractions, and supporting external tourism operators. Additionally, the role involves developing marketing campaigns and collateral to drive visitor numbers and elevate our regional tourism profile.
Essential:
- Ability to plan and prioritise own work to meet deadlines and achieve work outcomes
- Interpersonal skills consistent with providing high quality customer service, team leadership skills and building trust and cooperation with others
- Ability to work as a member of a team to deliver results
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders, both verbally and written from a wide variety of cultures, nationalities, social diversity and demographics
- Current `C’ Class Driver’s licence
Desirable:
- Possession of a tertiary qualification or relevant
- Curator experience in a similar role within the tourism industry would be highly regarded.
