    As part of Lake Macquarie’s tourism and marketing team, you will deliver the provision of visitor service via the mobile visitor information kiosks and to work with visitor economy businesses and events to attract, retain and develop new tourism products and experiences to promote and raise the profile of the destination. In collaboration with the Coordinator of tourism, lead the tourism ambassador volunteer program in the delivery of optimum customer experiences across the City facilities, sites, and events.

    The role requires being a part of Lake Macquarie’s tourism and marketing team at the Council Administration building, mobile information kiosks and volunteer team. The position is also required to work with key industry and other stakeholder groups and will be involved in the promotion of city to visitors as a destination of choice including up-selling and promotion of regional attractions, accommodation, events, and experiences. Other responsibilities include:

    • Responsible for the day-to-day management of Visitor Information Kiosks including managing volunteers, training, rostering and movement of the kiosk to various sites around the city.
    • Respond to visitor enquiries, complaints and feedback, and provide information about tours, programs, events, and membership programs, and identify opportunities to further strengthen visitor experiences.
    • Facilitate the growth of the tourism ambassador program, including recruiting volunteers, training, communication, and promotion of the program.
    • Manage the Tourism Partnership program, including retaining and attracting new tourism partners, updating visitor collateral, managing and delivering industry development and events, marketing and promotion, and supporting local tourism operators to build and grow their business.
