    The role involves identifying and leading strategic economic development and tourism activities aligned with the Council Plan. It requires collaboration with government, business, and the community to maximise participation.

    Additionally, the manager is responsible for driving strategic plans and programs for recreation, open space, and community facilities, along with overseeing the Council’s Aquatic Facilities Management contract.

    To be successful in this role you will have:

    • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline with significant and diverse experience at a senior management level to manage an integrated function.
    • Demonstrated ability to establish mechanisms to identify the economic, promotional and recreational needs of a municipality and region.
    • Proven effective leadership of staff to ensure their professional development and delivery of agreed key result areas.
    • Broad knowledge of the sources of funds available to Council and a proven ability to make successful submissions to secure funds for maximum benefit.
    • Understanding of the economic, political and social issues relating to the local government environment.
    • Proven capacity to network and collaborate with business and industry groups.
