Destination: Adelaide Hills
The countdown is on for ART Convention 2025, where delegates will be welcomed to the charming German artisan village of Hahndorf, located centrally in the Adelaide Hills. The region is surrounded by rolling valleys, historic hamlets, world-class cellar doors, and immersive farm experiences and the convention coincides with spring in the Hills, which means blooming gardens, orchards and bushlands.
We encourage you to extend your visit before or after the convention to explore the region further. You’ll leave feeling refreshed and re-energised after immersing in the tranquil landscapes. Historically, the region has been a retreat—a tradition dating back 150 years when Adelaide’s elite built grand summer houses in the Hills to escape the city’s heat. Today, the Adelaide Hills remains a serene antidote to the stresses of daily life, offering world-class tourism experiences and warm hospitality.
The Adelaide Hills is a leader in Wellness Tourism, with experiences across boutique accommodation, nature immersion, learning & creativity, and relaxation. Often referred to as South Australia’s food bowl, the region boasts a paddock-to-plate and seed-to-skin philosophy and world-class cuisine. It is also home to Cleland National Park, one of the state’s most iconic wildlife parks, surrounded by pristine bushland.
Getting Here
For interstate delegates, getting to the Adelaide Hills is simple! Fly into Adelaide Airport, and from there, your destination is “just up the hill”— only 30 minutes from the city centre and 40 minutes from the airport.

Discover Hahndorf
A stroll along historic Hahndorf’s main street is a highlight for many visitors. Established in 1839 by Prussian Lutherans seeking religious freedom, Hahndorf is Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement. Today, it thrives as an artisan village, perfect for shopping, dining, and cultural experiences. The town still retains its German heritage, evident in its smallgoods shops, bakeries, pubs, restaurants, and cafés that line the bustling main street.
Explore the Adelaide Hills

The official famil day is on Friday, October 17, but many local operators are offering special packages for ART delegates across a 10-day period.
