    About the role: 

    Reporting to the CEO, our Chief Economic Development Officer will champion Moreton Bay Regional Council’s (MBRC) Economic Development strategy whilst facilitating and delivering investment outcomes.  You will be responsible for the development and implementation of Economic Development plans/strategies, along with providing effective leadership and guidance to MBRC in the key result areas of economic growth, investment leveraging, tourism and visitor attraction.

    With Moreton Bay’s population forecast to grow to significantly over the next two decades, your Economic Development Strategy will both identify and reinforce Council’s ongoing commitment towards a thriving economy that values knowledge, innovation, business confidence, lifestyle and job growth and achieve our target of 70% self-contained employment.

    About you: 

    You’ll be hands on in your approach to developing and implementing strategies and policies to meet the current and future needs for the council, community and stakeholders. You will have strong relationship building and influencing skills to develop constructive partnerships with local industry, government and other stakeholders to identify and resolve economic issues in a timely manner. You’ll also bring with you extensive experience sourcing and analysing economic and business data in order to draw clear and pragmatic conclusions about the economy and how best to harness opportunities.
