Job Description
Located in Central Western Queensland, covering 53,935 square kilometres and with a population of 1150, Winton has an iconic and unique heritage while also undergoing several key development initiatives that will help ensure a long-term sustainable and bright future for the region, its communities and residents.
The region is currently enjoying healthy economic growth across both new and existing businesses, and your role will be to lead and inspire the teams that will ensure the momentum is maintained and that all new opportunities are identified and maximised right across the Community and Economic Development portfolio. You will have a hands-on influence across all key strategic and operational touchpoints and there will be a strong emphasis on effective engagement with both Council and resident and business communities.
Tertiary qualified in a Business or Management related discipline, you will have extensive experience managing long-term tourism based economic development projects while also ensuring the delivery of the highest quality key community care infrastructure such as Aged Care, Families and Education services. Local Government experience is essential, likewise the confidence and professionalism to quickly build credibility and collaborative engagement with both stakeholders and your own teams.
