    Economic Development Research Officer

    Development Services Directorate / Economic Development Branch

    Permanent/Full Time – 9 Day Fortnight

    Location – Proserpine

    Level 5 – $77,596 to $80,667 per annum

    The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. The region encompasses the 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands, the coastal towns of Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket, Shute Harbour and Bowen along with the rural towns of Proserpine and Collinsville. The Whitsunday region offers a dynamic environment and is perfectly placed to live, work, play and invest.

    The Role

    An exciting opportunity exists in our Economic Development team for an Economic Development Research Officer. As the Research Officer you will assist the Economic Development team and be responsible for undertaking, collating and interpreting research in relation to economic development projects and implementing project funding scheduling, support and administration activities to assist Council with Federal and State funding applications.

    Essential

    • C Class Drivers Licence
    • Tertiary Qualifications or experience in a relevant discipline (Economics, Business, Project Management)
    • Highly developed analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
    • Proven high level interpersonal, negotiation and investigation skills
    • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to develop and convey professional policies and procedures, reports and correspondence appropriate to the intended audience
    • Effective business partnering skills with proven skills in building and maintaining strong stakeholder relations
