    Position Vacant: Events Officer

    • Grade: 7
    • Weekly Hours: 17.5
    • Hourly Wage: $36.51 – $39.80 (plus allowances and superannuation)
    • RDO Available: Every 4 weeks

    NOTE: This is a temporary position based on parental leave. This contract is due to end Friday 23 December 2022. This may be extended depending and the substantive position holder’s parental leave.

    About the role

    We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, results focused and professional Events Officer to manage a number of Council’s key internal events as well as provide support to community members undertaking events at Council venues. You will be responsible for managing Council’s internal events and provide support to others undertaking events at Council venues. These events include Carols by Candlelight; Australian National Field Days stand; Local Government Week events; Australia Day events; Mayoral Civic receptions; New resident welcome events; Sister City Alliance events; Future Tunes and other community events.

    You will also be responsible for reviewing and updating the Events Management kit as required and providing guidance to other council staff undertaking the management of events. The role also entails assisting with the development of bids for conferences to be hosted in Orange and assist with the running of tourism and conference events.

    So what do you need?

    • Experience in an events management role
    • Certificate in events management or equivalent
    • Current Drivers licence
    • High level communication skills both written and verbal
    • Excellent organisational and planning skills
