Position Vacant: Events Sales and Marketing Coordinator
The Mercure Townsville has a fantastic new Part-time Event Sales and Marketing Coordinator role. We are looking for a capable and professional team member to enhance and maximise the profile of the Mercure Townsville as well as administration support of the Sales Team.
Importantly the role includes:
- Assisting with the planning, preparation and implementation of promotional activity, internally and externally
- Develop & implement annual marketing & promotional plans and calendar of events
- Maintain the digital/social media, databases and websites
- Maintain a strong relationship with existing key clients
- Focus on event sales skills with respect to reservations and event/function enquiries: including phone manner, timely responses both verbal and in writing, sequential follow up, site inspections and the creation of event orders in a timely manner
The ideal candidate must demonstrate:
- A good understanding of the hospitality industry and our competitor set
- Strong computer literacy
- Good eye for detail
- Creativity, innovation and initiative
- A good commercial understanding of sales and marketing
- Maturity and be a self-starter with independent time management and workflow skills
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- The confidence & presentation to conduct site inspections
- The willingness to meet & greet and take a hands on approach with major events.
