    What you need to know…

    • permanent full time – 70 hours per fortnight
    • salary – $72,746 – $86,751 per annum, plus superannuation

    About the role

    We are seeking a can-do, enthusiastic, team member for our Industry & Engagement Officer. The Communications & Industry Engagement team have a strong propensity to collaboration, utilising skillsets and sharing the load. A fulltime position is available for someone who has experience in working collaboratively with industry and community. The capacity to be adaptive, consultative, a good listener with a high level of emotional intelligence is important. Enabling industry and building community capacity is at the core of what we do.

    Your days will be varied as the role also includes coordinating communications support to our project teams. Therefore, monitoring relationships with the community and providing advice regarding communications to enhance council’s reputation is an important aspect of the role.

    To be successful in the role, you will be tech savvy, able to demonstrate your motivation to serve community and clearly communicate a message to a range of target groups and stakeholders.

    To be considered for this position you will need to:

    • Attach a cover letter (2 pages maximum) and an up-to-date resume (5 pages maximum) that clearly details your skills & experience as relevant to this position. You will need to demonstrate how you meet the focus capabilities and how your skills will enable you to achieve the key accountabilities.
    • Target questions – answer the three target questions – maximum 300 words each question
      – Tell us about a time when you’ve had to facilitate a participatory community activity, where a range of competing views were expressed. What tools an techniques did you use and how did you ensure the range of views were heard?
      – Tell us about a time when you’ve had to communicate a difficult and complex, but essential message to a target group unfamiliar with and/or disinterested in, the communication. Did the target group understand and what did you do to ensure this?
      – Tell us about a time when you’ve been under pressure to deliver a project in a timely manner, in circumstances where the brief kept changing. What did you do to ensure your project stayed on trach and you deliver what was expected.
