    About the role
    The Manager Strategic & Business Development position provides the Director Planning Environment and Community Services (DPECS) and the Directorate with high level capacity to research and develop frameworks, strategies, and budgets; plan, implement, lead and/or deliver key projects; undertake investigations, research and report/discussion paper preparation; and lead business improvements and development, all in an empowering and engaged way.

    The role will work to develop and grow enduring capacity across the Directorate. It will work to optimise and measure, record and report on the PECS Noble Purpose elements of engagement, trust, innovation and value creation across the Directorate. Of particular significance, the role will work with the DPECS and Managers to advance and increase the scope and reach of the critical work of improving workplace culture.

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Community Studies, Human, Social or Organisation Studies, Arts or Engagement or a relevant field coupled with significant experience (3-5 years) in a similar leadership role is essential.
    • Demonstrated strong change leadership and management experience in a customer-facing environment over a similar period is essential; and supporting qualifications would be well regarded.
    • Demonstrated engaged leadership skills with the ability to analyse, facilitate, collaborate and work with conflict with a highly evolved emotional intelligence is essential.
    • Demonstrated organisational and cultural change leadership and management capabilities focused on teams taking accountability for their own, yet coached, development, are essential.

    What we are offering:

    • Five (5) year fixed-term contract;
    • Attractive remuneration package, inclusive of accommodation and limited private-use vehicle;
    • Flexible working arrangements (including but not limited to part-time hours and working from home)
    • 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading;
    • 12% super in accordance with Council Policy;
    • Based in the Isaac Region.
