Position Vacant: Marketing Specialist / Coordinator
Position Summary:
Coordinate the delivery of the Strategic Marketing Plan for one of Australia’s most iconic and awarded retreats.
This role includes strategic planning, delivery, and assessment of all areas of marketing for the Lake House, Daylesford, Wombat Hill House, Daylesford & Dairy Flat Farm, Daylesford as well as associated brands and businesses.
Reports directly to the Brand Director.
Key responsibilities:
- Be aware and able to generate & interpret operational statistics and reports
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of the Australian tourism industry, key tourism bodies, and tourism partners; knowledge of key competitors; VIPs or Guests of influence relevant to our industry
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of Australia’s MICE industry including awareness of key competitors in the wedding and conference space.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of the hospitality industry, and be able to speak to key trends surrounding the food & beverage sector as well as our position within it.
- Manage and analyse opportunities for Marketing and Public Relations activity
- Research & development, reference checks, fact-finding, etc. as required
- Facilitate delivery of key reservation & sales systems, standard operating procedures, and associated marketing opportunities including but not exclusive to Oracle, Respak, Open Table, Spa One, Triple Seat.
- Manage the suite of websites associated with the business including hosting, updates, and development.
- Manage e-commerce sites including setting new products, shipping, and inventory management.
- Manage Guest Feedback
- Deliver the strategy for team engagement including but not exclusive to communication, briefings, training, social club activity, and employee benefits.
- Coordinate digital communication including but not exclusive to EDMs, social media, and advertising.
- Actively assist in the development of special events, classes, etc in association with the Brand.
- Develop marketing strategy of special events to ensure optimum sales and Brand opportunities.
- Supporting the delivery and future planning of marketing campaigns by working with internal teams and third-party suppliers.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing (or higher equivalent)
- At least 3 years’ recent relevant work experience in a similar role
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), WordPress, WooCommerce & customer relationship management (CRM) tools
- Familiarity with industry reservation systems such as Oracle, Open Table, Respak, Triple Seat, Little Hotelier, and Spa One.
- Working knowledge of HTML and design and email marketing platform (i.e. MailChimp, Iconosquare, etc).
- Good understanding of the Australian Tourism & Hospitality Industry
- Excellent writing skills and ability to sell the Brand through tone and language
- Excellent visual mastery to be able to sell the Brand through high-quality video and photography.
- Experience in planning and implementing digital communications
- Experience in managing social media presence
- Experience working with budgets and forecasting (preferable)
- Experience with reporting tools and analysing databases (preferable)
- Ability to work well within a team and also manage own time required to get the job done.
- Ability to think outside the box, bring new ideas for developing future business.
