Hospitality and tourism businesses can now apply for funding to attract workers for the Territory’s peak dry season period.

The Work Stay Play Program is a time-limited initiative of the Northern Territory Government to attract tourism and hospitality workers to the Territory.

The Initiative targets workers who relocate to the Northern Territory or new local workers to transition from unemployment into a tourism and/or hospitality job.

Eligible businesses can apply for up to $1,500 for each new employee. The cap on the total amount a business can claim is $21,000.

As an additional support mechanism, hospitality and tourism businesses will also be able register their jobs for free, on a new Territory Jobs Board, hosted on the NT Government’s website.

Vacancies will be listed on the Territory Job Board for four weeks and promoted to job seekers via a digital marketing campaign.

Eligible businesses can start listing their job vacancies from Wednesday 5 May by visiting territoryjobs.nt.gov.au/submit-job (NOTE this application form will not be live until next Wednesday).
