To help us achieve this we are seeking a passionate Project Officer to join the Business and Industry Development team.

  Working as part of a small high-performance team within our Strategy and Growth Division; the successful applicant will work to support and implement a wide range of projects and initiatives to ensure Council creates an environment that is conducive to sustainable economic growth. Taking a partnered approach with other levels of government, local business and industry and a range of stakeholders, the team’s focus is guided by the Port Macquarie-Hastings Economic Development Strategy.

  About You
  You will use your adaptable and responsive approach to actively encourage and support the growth of existing business, attract new industry investment, and drive new business and tourism opportunities.
    •  Specifically, you will be responsible for the following duties:
    •  Scoping and planning projects;
    •  Manage project priorities and deadlines;
    •  Implement projects and actions that deliver on Council’s Economic Development Strategy;
    •  Develop and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders;
    •  Coordinate council forums and meetings with Stakeholder groups;
    •  Conduct research and analysis on matters relevant to economic development;
    •  Represent Council and the Economic Development team at Council, industry, business or community forums; and,
    •  Work cooperatively with team members and managers to achieve team goals.

  Remuneration
  This is a full time role, with remuneration in the range of $61,601.20 – $69,347.70 per annum (depending on skills and experience) for a 35 hour week with access to Council’s Flexible Working Hours policy, plus 9.5% superannuation. There will be some afterhours / weekend work required.
