Position Vacant: Regional Development Officer
Townsville Enterprise is the peak Economic Development organisation, Regional Tourism Organisation and Convention Bureau for Townsville North Queensland. It is a not-for-profit, apolitical, membership-based organisation that exists to connect, grow and promote Townsville North Queensland. Our membership continues to grow and strengthen, and we are excited to be managing a number of exciting projects for North Queensland
For nearly 30 years Townsville Enterprise has been a key driver in attracting major investment to the region. It ensures that Townsville, Magnetic Island, Palm Island, the Burdekin, Hinchinbrook and Charters Towers regions benefit from investment and economic prosperity, tourism opportunities and the business events market.
An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and efficient Regional Development Officer to join this team to contribute and assist in securing investment that will maximise long term economic growth for Townsville North Queensland. The role will include collaboration with stakeholders to develop and execute regional development programs, events and projects; preparation and development of policy and economic analysis, reports and submissions; research and analysis of data to support planning and implementation of regional development initiatives; identification and implementation of potential funding streams and programs.
The successful applicant must be motivated, have the ability to work in a highly active environment, deal with challenging situations and be able to demonstrate the ability to prepare and interpret factual information and economic, demographic and other statistical data.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic are vital along with a high standard of personal presentation as this role will interface regularly with a number of internal and external stakeholders. The successful applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, business or commerce and/or relevant extensive experience in investment/ political/ commercial roles
