TiCSA, in collaboration with the Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC), has launched its 2023 National Policy Priorities for tourism businesses across Australia. We are collectively calling on the Australian Government to:

    • Provide funding for tourism businesses to develop new experiences, decarbonise and develop sustainable and accessible tourism product.
    • Cap public liability insurance risks and ensure affordable insurance coverage is available for all tourism businesses.
    • Freeze the Passenger Movement Charge on international visitors and provide an Aviation Bid Fund to attract additional affordable air services to destinations across Australia.
    • Lift funding for Tourism Australia to recover and retain our international visitors.
    • Reduce fees and restrictions on backpackers and international students working in tourism while visiting regional Australia.
    • Provide funding for visitor facilities in World Heritage areas.

The collaboration of this group at a national level is instrumental in driving policy reform within the operating environment for Australian tourism. Our focus has never been sharper on the task ahead as our group advocates for the changes required to allow for full recovery of our sector.
