Tourism & Communications Officer, Uralla Shire Council
Uralla Shire Council is currently recruiting for the newly created position of Tourism & Communications Officer. This full-time ongoing role requires excellent communication, project management and problem-solving skills, with a passion for tourism, marketing and community engagement.
Uralla Shire is thriving. Our community are highly engaged and recognised as a strength of our region. The local visitor economy is at once flourishing yet still full of untapped potential.
Our new Tourism & Communications Officer will develop and implement effective tourism marketing strategies, coordinate Council’s communications, and work collaboratively with business and community to enhance visitor experiences in Uralla Shire.
You will be based in the Uralla Visitor Information Centre, which is about to receive upgrades, additional resourcing and investment. To help coordinate this, we are looking for someone who wants to be hands on as well as strategic. You will be part of a small, agile team, working across a portfolio of communications, events, grants and digital.
Your role will be to help ensure our communications function seamlessly across our multiple websites, social media platforms, publications, events and community engagement initiatives.
You will be supported by a team of two Visitor Information Officers, and a community of volunteers who love to promote Uralla Shire as much as you do. In achieving this vision, local businesses, community groups and residents are all standing by and ready to collaborate with you too.
