    The District Council of Ceduna is located on the far West Coast of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. The township of Ceduna is the focal point of the District and has diverse business and industry sectors.

    The Council is seeking an experienced professional to drive effective development and execution of tourism strategies for the Ceduna region together with the management and coordination of major Council events and community engagement activities.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    • Facilitate advocacy and assistance to businesses and individuals to establish and enhance tourism products in the region
    • Management of the Council’s Visitor Information Centre contract
    • Maintenance and content management of the website and social media platforms
    • Development, production and distribution of promotional material
    • Develop productive workings relationships between Council, Regional Development Australia Eyre Peninsula (RDAEP) and Tourism product operators
    • Manage major events including the Ceduna Oyster fest, civic events and regional opportunities relating to arts, culture, food, and wine
    • Support Council and staff to drive sound community engagement strategies
    • Provide timely and accurate reports to the CEO
    • Participate in the strategic planning, annual business planning and budget development process

    It is essential that you have a current driver’s licence and minimum of 3 years’ experience in event planning and management together with an understanding of contemporary tourism economic drivers and development strategies within regional areas. Tertiary qualifications in Tourism, Business, Media or a related field will be will regarded. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills will enhance your ability to engage with a diverse group of stakeholders and provide accurate and informative reports on progress to the CEO, Mayor and Elected Members.
