Tourism Industry Development Officer | Tourism Central Australia
The role reports to the CEO, and will liaise closely with the Membership Coordinator, Marketing and Communications Manager, Visitor Business Manager and Corporate Services Manager. Being a small team, this role requires flexibility, adaptability and responsiveness to changing situations.
Activities of the role are primarily conducted at the TCA office in Alice Springs, however, may require regular remote and regional travel. Infrequent travel beyond the NT may be required. Use of a work vehicle (manual) is required.
Fixed term full time position until 30 June 2021 of 38 hours per week, with additional hours as reasonably required.
Hours of work will be generally Monday to Friday, between 0830 and 1700. Additional out of office hours work will be required, and attendance at industry functions out of usual hours is essential.
Key Tasks
* Proactively approach businesses in the visitor economy to assist them to access business development services
* Where support gaps exist, work intensively with businesses to grow their capabilities
* Develop and maintain positive collaborative relationships with stakeholders, partners and funding agencies
* Regularly report on program KPIs, including recommendations for improved delivery and completion of interim and final reporting requirements
Key Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated extensive experience in business development/business mentoring, specifically in a visitor economy related sector
* This includes proven experience in working with business owners/managers ranging from micro to major enterprises, and collaborating to achieve shared outcomes
* Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, tourism or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
