    The new Macadamias Australia Agri-Tourism Facility is scheduled to open in April 2021 and will include both guided and self-guided tours featuring interactive displays, tasting experience, event space and a retail shop selling a diverse range of local products. Our customers can also relax and enjoy delicious food in our café set amongst the macadamia orchard.

    The Tourism Manager role will be multi-faceted and very hands-on, responsible for project completion including managing the planned fit out, organising retail shop merchandise, development and implementation of sales and marketing materials to ensure a successful opening and beyond. Other key responsibilities include:

    • Develop processes, lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the tourism facility
    • Develop, plan, execute, measure and evaluate marketing and PR strategies that drive visitation to Macadamias Australia and the region
    • Manage the development and delivery of Macadamias Australia visitor experience, interpretation, tours, education programs, group management and event marketing with the aim of generating public enjoyment
    • Oversee the commercial success of the tourism facility
    • Collaborate with the café to coordinate events and deliver a high level of customer service
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with local, regional and national stakeholders and partners in the tourism and hospitality sectors to embed the new Macadamias Australia visitor experience into the fabric of the Australian tourism industry. You will do this in partnership with the regional tourism organisation – Bundaberg Tourism

    What experience does this position require?

    • Minimum 5 year’s experience working in a tourism or hospitality management role that can demonstrate the capabilities required to perform the key areas of responsibility for this position
    • Tertiary qualifications in business, tourism management or marketing preferred, but not essential
    • Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to work consultatively with various interest groups and stakeholders
    • Commercial acumen and the ability to manage and interpret financials
    • Experience in working with operational systems
    • Demonstrated customer-centric approach to product and service delivery
    • Demonstrated existing relationships in the tourism industry
    • Must be flexible and present a respectful, patient and kind demeanour
