    GAPDL is a not-for-profit, membership-based organisation that is recognised as one of thirteen Regional Tourism Organisations (RTO’s) in Queensland. We are responsible in marketing the Gladstone Region as a great place to live, play and stay!

    GAPDL is seeking to appoint a Tourism Projects Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract (possibility of extension), to assist in achieving our Vision and Corporate Aims through various project functions, activities and performance requirements.

    Criteria:

    • Formal qualifications in tourism, marketing or a similar discipline (desirable)
    • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a related role
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to build professional rapport
    • Lively and enthusiastic personality with confidence and a sense of fun
    • Previous experience in sales and or marketing is desirable
    • Capable of fulfilling travel requirements (domestic and potentially international)
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as autonomously to effectively achieve positive outcomes
    • Australian drivers licence essential

    Responsibilities & Main Tasks:

    • Coordinate and lead core tourism projects for marketing and development of the Gladstone Region
    • Provide tourism strategy and advice regarding marketing and development of the Gladstone Region to ensure GAPDL’s objectives are achieved in a professional and timely matter
    • Working with GAPDL Members on product development and trade ready programs and initiatives
    • Management of the GAPDL Gladstone Membership Portfolio
    • Maintain and develop partnerships with the wider tourism industry, GAPDL Members, Gladstone Regional Council, Tourism and Events Queensland and the Southern Great Barrier Reef RTO partners
    • Identifying and applying for financial grants that benefit GAPDL and enhance the marketing efforts of the organisation
    • Domestic and international travel for trade initiatives and consumer promotional shows/conferences representing the Gladstone Region
