The Tasmanian Government is inviting tourism and hospitality operators to apply for grants of up to $1 million to deliver projects that will drive visitation to regional parts of Tasmania.

The Tourism Innovation Grant Program is now open and is aimed at supporting the growth of the tourism and hospitality sector by assisting in the development of contemporary and competitive Tasmanian tourism offerings.

To be eligible, the offerings must be consistent with the goals of the T21 Visitor Economy Action Plan to increase visitor spending, grow the value of regional tourism and support new employment opportunities.

A total of $8 million in funding has been allocated to the program.

    Applications involve a two-step process:

Step 1: Complete an eligibility form through Smarty Grants. Eligibility applications will close at 4:00 pm on Friday 25 February 2022.

Step 2: Submit a project proposal by 4:00 pm on Friday 8 April 2022.

Questions about meeting the program eligibility criteria should be directed to the Tourism Hospitality Support Unit (THSU), Department of State Growth on 03 6165 5107 or email: thsu@stategrowth.tas.gov.au.

To apply or for more information, visit the Department of State Growth website.
