As Tourism Development Officer for the Rockingham region in Western Australia, I’m excited to promote our slice of coastal paradise to the rest of the world. Look up from the screen and get back into the green (and blue!) in Rockingham. Rediscover Nature in all its beauty at this ecologically important destination. From the coast to the wetlands to bushland, Rockingham is an ecotourist’s paradise. Meet the local marine life – seals, dolphins and our unofficial mascots, the little penguins, around the sanctuary of the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park. Best known as the area where the coast comes to life, Rockingham has 37km of spectacular coastline where you’ll find an abundance of aquatic activities on offer. If you’re an adventurer who likes to swim, kayak, fish, cruise, surf, cable-ski, snorkel, paddle board, kite-surf or scuba dive, you’re going to want to add Rockingham to the top of your must-visit list. Or for those who like to get off the beaten track, the locales of Baldivis and Karnup offer bush trails, wildflower sightings and bird watching.
