I might start with the vision statement of one of my favourite companies “We believe that travel is the best education. There is nothing like it to open the mind, eyes and heart. And we believe that travel is a powerful agent of social change. Getting people to meet face to face is the most effective way of ending racism, intolerance and change”.

My entire career has been in tourism, with a few dashes of other industries to add spice.  With a degree in tourism and several years of travelling under my belt, a progression to the travel industry seemed logical.  Along the way I added a couple of postgrad qualifications (MSc in Tourism plus a postgrad in business administration).

I spent many years as WA/SA (sometimes including NT) state manager for some great companies in both the retail and corporate travel space.

After moving home to beautiful Albany in Australia’s SouthWest, I changed tack slightly to lecture in tourism at South Regional TAFE.  I deal with students online, in the classroom and in workplaces throughout our Great Southern region. I’ve even taught tourism in the local prison.

My passions are sustainable tourism development, regional tourism, adventure-based tourism and tourism as a force for good.
