New: Adv/Diploma of Agritourism Operations
Some great news for regional tourism. The newly accredited Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Agritourism Operations will be included on the Victorian Funded Course List.
Box Hill Institute has just completed developing online courses in Agritourism and intends to start teaching in February 2021. Over 400 hrs of interviews with 40+ agritourism businesses from VIC, WA and NSW have been used to create ‘virtual mentors’ to help share the experience (good and bad) that these businesses have been through. For a snapshot of some of these businesses, or for a virtual tour via Google Earth go to:
https://studentweb.bhtafe.edu.au/agritourism
The courses will broadly cover areas such as:
- Promote and Develop Agritourism
- Transition Planning for Agritourism
- Agritourism Risk
- Agritourism Compliance
- Agritourism Plans.
The courses have been designed to suit people that are interested in setting up an agritourism business, who have an agritourism business and would like to further develop skills, or who are interested in working in agritourism and would like to build valuable skills.
Student feedback from a pilot short course ‘Promote and Develop Agritourism’ said it all:
“I have spoken to several friends who expressed interest in the class and I have told them it is well worthwhile for whatever stage they are at in their agritourism business development.” Sonya, Yea VIC
“I loved the mix of resource materials from case studies to testimonials with videos, images and text, to accessing websites and understanding the different levels of assistance available at Federal, State government level and locally. Good thought provoking questions along the way.” Rowan, VIC
