Accessible Tourism Australia 2035
A discussion paper prepared by The Access Agency for Australian Regional Tourism
One in five Australians lives with disability, and many more travel with someone who does. Yet accessibility is still often treated as an add-on rather than a core part of the visitor experience. Accessible Tourism Australia 2035 sets out a vision for making regional Australia a leading destination for accessible travel within the next decade.
The paper looks at where the sector stands today, the opportunities accessible tourism opens up for regional communities, and practical steps that councils, destination marketing organisations and operators can take together. It’s intended to start a conversation, and we welcome feedback from across the industry.
