Lauren Douglass, Director at Tourism Direction, has an in-depth understanding of the common challenges experienced in regional tourism. In her previous role as Executive Officer of the Lord Howe Island Tourism Association, Lauren led the association through a restructure, implemented a new brand position and negotiated the transition of visitor information services from local council to LHI Tourism Association. She was successful in strengthening the financial position and membership base of the association, and was instrumental in leading the transitional change to LHI becoming a well-recognised eco-destination.
Based in the regional tourism town of Jurien Bay, Western Australia, Lauren is passionate about supporting communities to grow without compromising sense of identity. She is excited to be joining the ART team and continuing to champion for regional tourism across Australia.
