Tash McQueen

Growing up and travelling regional Australia from an early age sparked a keen interest in regional tourism for Tash.
A passion for food and wine combined with a love for providing customer service were essential for her success in the hospitality and luxury accommodation sectors. Prior to joining the ART team, Tash provided business support to Destination Sydney Surrounds South (one of six Destination Networks across regional NSW) and during this time established strong industry connections.

With a local government background in tourism and previous event management experience prior to relocating to the Illawarra, Tash held the position of Coordinator Tourism & Economic Development at Snowy Valleys Council in Tumbarumba. During her time in Tumbarumba, Tash was responsible for visitor servicing, marketing and product development; she also successfully achieved adoption of the Snowy Valleys Council Destination Management Plan (DMP), a significant milestone at that time for the newly merged council. In addition to her role at Council, Tash was also responsible for event coordinating Tumbarumba’s two-day flagship event Tumbafest in 2018, held on the last weekend of February each year. Successfully securing funding from Destination NSW’s Event Development Fund, the festival experienced record numbers during that year.

Holding a Bachelor of Business specialising in Accounting and Tourism from Charles Sturt University, as well as a Diploma of Tourism, Tash also brings to ART a strong ability and demonstrated skills in grant writing, financial management and stakeholder engagement.
