Position Vacant: Communications and Marketing Officer
Scenic Rim Regional Council delivers community services and infrastructure to a population of more than 40,000. Key responsibilities of this role include the following:
- Contribute to the delivery of marketing, media, storytelling, branding and communications activity to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Be a contributor to and facilitator of Council’s digital marketing platforms and social media channels.
- Research and produce media responses and publications.
- Maintain a political awareness (internal and external) with a view of managing Council’s public reputation.
- Assist with photographic and audio visual projects to ensure the organisation’s visual representation remains relevant to and engaged with the community.
The successful applicant will bring:
- A Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or Public Relations and/or extensive work experience in corporate communications.
- Proficiency and a minimum 2 years’ experience in researching and writing media releases, responses and other content.
- High level proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Experience across proactive marketing, branding, public relations, communications, print and media management, with an emphasis on and understanding of digital platforms and content management systems.
- High level photography and videography skills and demonstrated ability to use the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere is desirable.
Conditions of employment will be in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement with the remuneration being in the range of $70,422 to $75,227.32 per annum plus superannuation (Level 4 Local Government Industry Award)
