Visit Victoria is Victoria’s primary tourism, business and major events company that focusses on curating and communicating the depth and diversity of Victoria’s inspiring experiences to intrastate, interstate and international visitors, organisations and associations.
About the role & key responsibilities
This role is part of a small team who provide consumer insights for Visit Victoria to build strategy, business plans and Marketing activities. The role is key in providing a connection between data and a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake ad hoc analysis of consumer research and statistics as required.
- Support the Consumer Insights Team by assisting in the coordination, implementation and running of research projects as required.
- Provide insightful research advice and expertise across the business including presenting research information to the business.
- Coordinate the updating, enhancement and dissemination of reports for Consumer Insights and other stakeholders.
- -Contribute to the development, preparation and distribution of performance metrics and the development of the research program.

Skills and experience
- Demonstrated research skills, including market research methods and report writing.
- Sound quantitative, data interpretation skills with ability to critically examine key issues and implications of research findings.
- Previous experience working for a business in an insights function, or at a research agency
- Proven experience in the application of insights to inform business decisions.
- Strong technical skills including demonstrated capacity to use crosstabulation analytical software (E.g. SPSS, Q) and excel.
- Experience or knowledge in Power BI or programming language (highly regarded, but not essential)
- Well-developed communication, public presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills, together with a client-focussed approach to service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in project management.
- Tertiary qualification in any of the following: Business, Statistics, Psychology, Marketing.
- Knowledge of tourism trends, issues and consumer behaviour
