An exciting opportunity for an experienced Economic Development Officer has become available within the Economic Development team at Mackay Regional Council.
The Role
The Economic Development Officer is responsible for the facilitation of economic development outcomes in alignment with Council’s Corporate Plan. Key objectives of this role include implementing relevant aspects of the Mackay Region Economic Development Strategy 2020-2025, facilitating and supporting regional development and proactively engaging with the region’s business and industry to facilitate their growth and diversification.Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Tertiary qualification in economics, business, planning, marketing and/or with relevant experience in economic development or similar role.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships between internal stakeholders, industry, other levels of government and the community.
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination, achieving targets and working autonomously.
- Current Queensland “C” class driver’s license.

- Annual base salary range from $82,036 – $87,585
- Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply)
